Cooling Center Locations – Clark County

The NWS has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for our Region starting Friday June 25th and running through Monday June 28th. We are working with Clark County Public Health, and the Council for the Homeless in partnership with Clark County, the City of Battle Ground, City of Camas, City of Ridgefield, City of La Center, City of Vancouver, City of Washougal, and town of Yacolt to help coordinate locations to help cool off over this weekend. Below is a known list of places open this weekend for individuals and families to cool down:

County Wide:

Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries

All locations are open – still limited capacity at 50% until end of month

  • Vancouver Library ( 901 C St.) Friday 10-6 pm, Sat & Sun 10-8pm, Monday 10- 7pm
  • Cascade Park Library (600 NE 136th Ave.) Friday 10-6 pm, Saturday 10-8pm, closed Sunday, Monday 10-8pm
  • Three Creeks Library (800-C NE Tenney Rd.) Fri-Sat 10-5 pm, closed Sunday, Monday 10-6pm
  • Battle Ground Library, (1207 SE 8th Way) Fri-Sat 10-5 pm, closed Sunday, Monday 10-5pm

In Vancouver:

St Joseph Catholic Church

They will provide lemonade, water, coffee, tea and snacks… Will also be accepting pets

Trinity Baptist Church

6700 MacArthur Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98661 (On the 32 C-Tran bus line)

  • June 25th – 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • June 26th – 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • June 27th – 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm

They will provide water, snacks, chairs, restrooms, Open to anyone, housed or unhoused, Will also be accepting pets

Living Hope Church

2711 NE Andresen Rd, Vancouver, WA 98661 (On the 32, 30 and 190 C-Tran bus lines)

  • June 25th – 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm
  • June 26th – 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm
  • June 27th – 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm
  • June 28th -12:00 pm – 7:00 pm

They will be offering water, snacks, and AC. Will also be accepting pets

Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church

12513 SE Mill Plain

  • June 26th – 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm
  • June 27th – 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm
  • June 28th – 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Open for walk-in guests. Beverages and snacks will be provided in an air conditioned building. Will also accept pets

In Battle Ground

Battle Ground Community Center

  • June 26th – 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm
  • June 27th – 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm
  • June 28th – 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Encouraging folks to bring games, and activities. Please follow CDC guidelines for COVID as well.

Community Center Safety Protocols:

  • Masks are not required for those who are fully vaccinated. Otherwise, masks should be worn.
  • The facility will accommodate 6’ social distancing
  • Hand sanitizing stations are placed at the facility
  • If you are sick, do not enter the facility. 

In Ridgefield

Ridgefield Administrative and Civic Center (RACC)

510 Pioneer St

  • June 26th – 12:30 pm – 8:30 pm
  • June 27th – 12:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Seating may be limited, please bring chairs, games and activities. The gym and commons will be open (restrooms available). Water will be provided. Masks not required for those who are fully vaccinated. Six foot distancing should be observed. Hand Sanitizer will be available.

In Washougal
